FGV’s Department of Public Policy Analysis (DAPP) will host a panel on transparency and open data on May 10, at 2 p.m. The event will also include the launch of the 2018 Open Data Index for Cities, developed in partnership with Open Knowledge Brazil (OKBr).
The panel titled ‘2018 Open Data Index for Cities Launch: Transparency challenges in Rio de Janeiro’ will address the state and quality of open data at a municipal level, in addition to furthering the discussion on control mechanisms of civil society, particularly in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The panel will include DAPP and OKBr researchers and experts in the field.
The Open Data Index is a civil society initiative that seeks to map the status of open data in several countries (and cities) around the world. In this edition, the following Brazilian cities will participate in the survey: Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasília (DF), Natal (RN), Porto Alegre (RS), Salvador (BA), Sao Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), and Uberlandia (MG).
